A Bad Call By Nascar Costs Gordon A Top Five.
Jeff
Gordon was running a good race all night. He
went a lap down through the long green flag run,
he was running tenth at the time. When Kurt
Bush got by leader Dale Jr. putting Gordon in the
lucky dog position if the caution had come
out. The caution did come out and Gordon got
his lap back. The rule of the man who gets
his lap back is to start at the end of the longest
line, unless the slower cars or other drivers wave
you by. Gordon was waved by by Kyle Petty
and Dale Jarrett so Gordon was ok.
Wrong. Nascar decided to black flag Gordon a
pass through penalty putting Gordon 2 laps down in
14th.. He never gained again and finished
there. After the race he was not happy
telling reporters he would have a chat with Nascar.
